Children, Young People and Families Services 

Counselling Psychological Therapists

Deliver, with clinical supervision, high-quality mental health interventions to children and young people in schools and other educational settings. 

Child Wellbeing Practitioner

Qualified to deliver low-intensity evidence-based CBT interventions and hold a recognised CYP IAPT or IAPT qualification. Delivers evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing needs.   

Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)

Delivers evidence-based interventions to children, young people, parents & carers in an educational/community setting who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services. Also responsible for supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.  

Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner 

A training role within Children and Young People’s IAPT. The post-holder works as part of a wider team of psychological therapists, delivering, with supervision, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties 

Trainee EMHP 

Training to become qualified in the delivery of evidence-based interventions for children and young people in an educational setting who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services. 

Trainee HI CBT Therapist 

Works within a wider team of psychological therapists and delivers, with Clinical supervision, high-quality; outcome focused evidence-based CBT interventions for children and young people who are experiencing mental health disorders such as anxiety & depression. The trainees attend university based taught and self-study days required by Northumbria University as the HEI, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and deliver therapies and support for the remaining days of the week, using their newly developed skills 

Specialist Therapists 

Specialist Therapists offer consultation, clinical assessment and psychotherapeutic counselling to children, young people and their families who have experienced complex trauma. They work with parents and carers and professionals to develop their understanding of developmental and attachment-based trauma, improving outcomes and support for affected children. 

Systemic Family Practitioners 

Operate within a wider team of psychological therapists and will deliver, with Clinical supervision, high-quality; outcome focused evidence-based therapeutic interventions for families with a focus of improving family functioning and family whose children are experiencing mental health difficulties, in particular; conduct disorder, depression and self-harm. 

Trainee Systemic Family Practitioner 

Works within a wider team of psychological therapists and delivers, with Clinical supervision, high-quality; outcome focused evidence-based therapeutic interventions for families with a focus of improving family functioning and family whose children are experiencing mental health difficulties, in particular; conduct disorder, depression and self-harm. Trainees attend university based taught and self-study days required by University and deliver therapies and support for the remaining days of the week, using their newly developed skills 

Hi Intensity CBT therapists  

Deliver with Clinical supervision, high-quality; outcome focused evidence-based CBT interventions for children and young people who are experiencing mental health disorders such as anxiety & depression. 

Mental Health Support Workers  

Offer clinical and administrative support to Alliance’s Children and Young People and Families (CYPF) Psychological Therapies Service. They contribute to assessments, waiting list management and CYPF support in collaboration with other members of the team, providing self-help support and signposting to a range of partner agencies.   

  

Impact on Teesside – NHS Talking Therapies for Teesside

HI CBT Therapist

HI CBT Therapists hold an NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) recognised qualification in High Intensity CBT. They provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of NHS England’s Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression model. HI CBT therapists provide intake assessments to patients and deliver treatment-focused and psychoeducational groups, in addition to providing one-to-one therapy.

HI CBT Therapist Trainee

HI CBT Therapist Trainees provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of NHS England’s Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression model (formerly IAPT). HI CBT trainees work within the Impact on Teesside service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a university-based programme of training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. HI CBT Therapist trainees also provide intake assessments to patients as part of their work-based training and development.

HI Counsellors

HI Counsellors provide a range of NICE-recommended psychological therapy modalities for treatment of depression and anxiety disorders within the framework of NHS England’s Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression model (formerly IAPT). Modalities include: Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Couple Therapy for Depression. HI Counsellors provide intake assessments to patients and deliver treatment-focused and psychoeducational groups, in addition to providing one-to-one therapy.

Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP)

PWPs hold an NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) recognised qualification in Low Intensity CBT. They provide a range of evidence-based low intensity psychological interventions within the framework of NHS England’s Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression model. PWPs provide intake assessments to patients and have the opportunity to deliver treatment-focused and psychoeducational groups, in addition to providing one-to-one low intensity interventions.

PWP Trainee

PWP Trainees provide a range of evidence-based low intensity psychological interventions within the framework of NHS England’s Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression model (formerly IAPT). PWP trainees work within the Impact on Teesside service providing low intensity interventions whilst undertaking a university-based programme of training towards qualifying as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. PWP trainees also provide intake assessments to patients as part of their work-based training and development.

Alliance Plus

Psychological Therapist 

Provides a range of counselling interventions as part of Alliance’s Workplace Services counselling team. This post may be based within Alliance premises, working from home or within a Workplace setting elsewhere. The Postholder may at times be working as part of an Occupational Health team. 

Administrative Roles 

Our administration teams are found across each part of the business and are usually the first point of contact with clients and the public.  There are a variety of roles including opportunities for progression to more senior positions.  We offer both full time and part time opportunities.
